Salisbury is a City in Wiltshire which features a world famous cathedral. The city is often referred to as ‘the city in the countryside’. Theres plenty of things to keep you occupied in Salisbury, including a bustling market, excellent shops, arts & crafts, museums and stately homes. Visiting Salisbury Cathedral is very popular with visitors and can be spotted from miles away.
Marlborough is a historic market town in the north of Wiltshire. There is still a market every Saturday and Wednesday where you can find an interesting assortment of local produce and goods. The architecture in Marlborough makes walking around the town fascinating.
Stonehenge is one of the most famous prehistoric monuments in the world. The stone circle was completed around 2500 BC and draws visitors from all over the globe. You can learn all about the history of Stonehenge, the Neolithic people and the landscape around Stonehenge.
There are eight ‘White Horses‘ in Wiltshire. These horses are located in Westbury, Cherhill, Marlborough, Alton Barnes, Hackpen, Broad Town, Pewsey & Devizes. Westbury is the oldest of the White Horses, located on the side of a Westbury Hill, and has a panoramic view at the top.
Swindon is a town in the north of Wiltshire, and is a great place to visit. It is surrounded by parks and has interesting landmarks to visit. The town has a railway museum and a museum of computing which everyone can enjoy. Swindon also offers a great shopping experience.
Longleat Safari & Adventure Park is a drive-through safari park which is situated in the grounds of Longleat House. It is home to over 500 animals and has some of the most fascinating species of animals.
